 Though it wasn’t a picture-perfect day as far as weather and autumn foliage, the October 19 Member-Guest tournament at Woodloch Springs turned out to be a memorable one for the 75 players who endured the elements. Everyone who showed up received prizes and extra giveaways and were treated to a delicious dinner in the Woodloch clubhouse.
Director of Golf John Pillar and his staff made all the players feel like it was an ideal 75-degree sunny day – never missing a beat with their positive outlook, extra towels and spot-on service. As it turned out, the wet and windy conditions were not as bad as expected – playable and manageable by any standard. In fact, there two gross 8-under par 64s posted and a 65.
Participant after participant called it the best time they’ve had at a Golf Card Member-Guest tournament – sometimes just getting through a round is a great feeling. And the Golf Card made a special presentation of a dozen balls to the 12 players who made it through all three Member-Guest tournaments in 2012. They are: Joseph Gizzo, Tony Gizzo, Ray Knottle, Sergio Rojas, Mike Brennan, Andy Jorgensen, Rip Ludwig, Henry Nyberg, Toni Nyberg, Diana Erskine, Tom Erskine and Louise Franks. A special thanks goes out to this dedicated dozen – they truly help make every tournament a success.
